Fundamental Understanding About Chinese Brush Art
This is a type of art using bamboo brushes and natural pigment to created images and forms on rice paper or silk paper. It is one of the oldest continuous artistic tradition in the world. Today There are more and more artists still want to adopt the treasure from this art, to enrich or provide a new development into their current creative work on contemporary stage.
There are two type of art forms in bamboo brush art: brush painting and calligraphy, both applied in ink lines. Compared to colour, ink plays an fundamental and bone role to support the art piece, while colour mostly support like muscles to provide surface look and enrich the live meaning.
There is no previous drawing and painting training needed if you have never tried this type of art. You will be guided into your own practice and creative process through your own steps. With lots of detailed samples and demonstration, I would like to take you into a journey of this enjoyable art world, where you can sit down, completely relax and back to inner peace and confidence.
