A Tree Study
Create Your Landscape Painting From A Single Tree
Tree plays an important role in any landscape painting, no matter what media you are using. In this lesson, we will go through various resources on tree study in Chinese landscape painting. With the bamboo brushes in hands, you will learn the basic structure of trees, explore the techniques of drawing trees in a flexible brush handling skill, and finally assemble your trees into a possible composition of landscape painting in confidence.
There are images from historic master pieces, pictures from nature and teaching samples from old print to be offered through the course. Please get your Chinese art supplies ready before you start. Through a step-by-step video demonstration, I would like to bring you into a meditative nature you can catch anywhere in your life.
What we can learn from a tree
Every tree has a beautiful form, it is the beauty of life and nature which is beyond our capability. Learn from nature, respect to nature and reach the balance with nature. It is a natural rule which you can learn from Taoism. Originally it is called Dao in Chinese, means the way or the path to the balanced nature, world or universe. It is the rule of life.
Appreciating yourself from appreciation to a tree. Learn from one, then love the others.
